* Database Design is a basic step for building any software application
* In this course you will gain the knowledge needed to work with database management systems and to create applications using current database models

* Participants should have the basic understanding of computer programming

* Learn to analyze a business problem and develop data management requirements
* How to develop a conceptual model to meet the problem requirements, using an Entity-Relationship diagram or another conceptual modeling tool (UML)
* How to apply normalization to reduce/eliminate redundancy in database design
* How to implement the conceptual model in a commercial relational database, such as MS Access, Oracle, MySQL
